To kill a mockingbird

Apparently it takes a great deal to go through a book written by Harper Lee. And, indeed it is a great pleasure to go through such an intricate piece of literature.

Atticus finch, a lawyer with his two children’s Jeremy finch and Jean Louise finch.

The basic story line revolves around a child’s thought story over the people of his county and there various headed wars. It gives an immense pleasure to notice the little understandings and thoughts of a child like mind.

“if you shouldn’t be defending him, then why are you doing no it? “

“for a Number of reasons,” said atticus. “the main one is, if I didn’t I couldnt hold up my head in town, I couldn’t represent this county in the legislature, I could even tell you or homemade not to do something again.”

“you mean if you didn’t defend that man, jem and me wouldn’t have to mind you any more?”

“that’s about right.”

“why?”

“because I could never ask you to mind me again. Scout, simply by the nature of the work, every lawyer gets at least one case in his lifetime that affects him personally. This one’smine, I guess. You might hear some influx talk about it at school, but do one thing for me if you will; you just hold your head high and keep those fists down. No matter what anybody says to you, don’t let ilthem get your goat. Try fighting with your head for a change… It’s a good one, even if it does resist learning.”

“Atticus, are we going to win it?”

“no, honey.”

“then why-“

“simply because we were licked a hundred years ago before we started is no reason for us not to Trey to win,” atticus said.

-to kill a mockingbird pg84

The story of black and white people. The story of everyday at national county. How it has all that goes wrong, comes to you. A lie never goes unpaid.

And yes, the one person scout and jem looked around since childhood. Boo radley. Where is he? Could they find him? How do they find him? There neighbour.

The words, however difficult to understand, Harper Lee has one of the best intellect story to learn from. Me it the words, the presence of humour, or the thoughts of a little one described. The ultimate story of atticus finch as he raises his two little ones.

The pilgrimage

So, apparently it is not as such that only the saints do pilgrimage. For when Paulo Coelho went along the path of the pilgrimage to Santiago, it all came for him to learn the lessons he did cherish for a life time.

Guided by a companion, Paulo goes in search of his messenger, a sword and the truth of his own life.

Everything in our surrounds rejoined an uneasy peace, the peace of a world that was still in the process of growing and being created – a world tat seemed to know that, in order to grow, it had to continue moving along, always moving along. Great earthquakes and killer storms might make nature seem cruel, but I could see that these were just the vicissitudes of being on the road. Nature itself journeyed, seeking illumination. -pg39

And along the road, the author indulges himself in fighting his inner fears, so as to overcome his greatest fear!

over and above the physical forces that surround us and help us, there are basically two spiritual forces in our side: an angel and a devil. The angle always protects us and is a divine gift – you do not have to invoke him.

The devil is an angel too, but he is free, rebellious force. When we let him loose, his tendency is to disperse himself. When we become fascinated by his power, he owns us and keeps us from fighting the good fight. -pg79

And, in the end it is indeed about fighting all you have within yourself, so as to overcome a better version of yourself. It is about accepting change and believing in yourself.

Every book of Paulo Coelho ends in a lesson for a lifetime. With his words comes an inspiration that puts an amazing effect on a individual. And surely, I am not of those, inspired by his words, his books and his imaginations.

Everyone has a story

Being a writer seems easy, but being a story teller takes a lot of effort. And amongst it, finding a story that conveys the writers feeling and also to catch a readers heart is amazing.

Meera, an aspiring writer, finding a story through people, falls in love with a mystery man, Vivaan.

What is it that he hides? What is it about him that aspire her to become a writer? How, would she ever find a story of her own?

And, then they both fall in love.

When you love, you have so much to be grateful for and to live for, but when you lose it, you go on with every single day as if you are just a shell. Survival is the only reason one is on this Earth. It has nothing to do with the fact that you fell anything as powerful as love any longer. -pg192
Indeed like every story,  this one has twists, vivaan escapes and to find him is impossible. All, meera could ever do is wait.

And, when he returns, it’s all about love.

‘do you know the worst thing a man can do to a woman? ‘

I shrugged. ‘I am assuming it is being unfaithful. ‘

‘no, it is making her fall in love with you when you have no intentions of loving her back.’ -pg149

And, with a happy ending they do meet up! Let’s see how? The story of meera and Vivaan.

An author who describes the story of an author. The outline of the book describes love and friendship in forms that leaves a reader overwhelmed. Thank you!

The alchemist

The story of dreams and the heights one could go through to reach them.

“it is the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.” -pg11

Santiago is a shepherd who dreams of finding treasure amidst of a pyramid. But. It is a long way to go.  Pyramids are not right along the corner.

“making a decision was only the beginning of things. When someone makes a decision, he is really dividing into a strong current that will carry him to places he had never dreamed of when he first made the decision.” -pg71

The people he meets up along his journey, the ones who teaches him the language of the soul of the world are what matters more than the treasure.

The king, the merchant, the alchemist and above all,  the love of his life, Fatima.

“I am going away”,he said. “and I want you to know that I’m coming back. I love you because.. “

“don’t say anything, “Fatima interrupted. “one is loved because one is loved. No reason is needed for loving. ” -pg128

And it is what he learnt that matters.

“because it is not love to be static like the desert, not is it love to roam the world like the wind. And it’s not love to see everything from a distance, like you do. Love is the force that transforms and improves the soul of the world. ” -pg158

With all of the love,  Paulo Coelho and his first every published book leaves you amazed with his words. Let it be the story or the spiritualism he spreads. His motivation is all that is required in this consistent life.

The story of achievement.

Because, “when you want something, all the universe conspires to Help you achieve that.

Someone like you

A story of a girl, niharika. From being studious and being in her own skin, niharika gets a makeover for her college from her sister.

Yes, she is now a pretty one with mascara filled eyes and lovely eyes.

Three minutes is all it takes. If the first three minutes make you feel something about the guy who you meet for the first time, you should hang on to that feeling. The first minute is usually devoted to how the person looks, the second one is how the person behaves with other people and the third one is what the person makes you feel about yourself. Pg35

Amongst all the things she could fall in love with, she found only problems waiting for her. And then, it was one man that led everything just right!

From rich, spoiled Akshat to the ever so rough and hot karthik, niharika finds it difficult to know who she truly needs and wants.

And among all this times, Tanmay and pia, her best friends are here to stay by her side. Are they staying?

I SAID I DO!

‘say it, ‘he says. Strangely, the sheer arrogance in his attitude makes me love him more.

‘now-kiss me! ‘ he says.

‘now you’re pushing your luck!’

‘okay, okay!’ he laughs, blows a kiss to me and turns back to the field. Pg243

A story of love, betrayal, friendship and decisions to make. Someone like you is indeed durjoy Dutta and Nikita Singh’s tale to leave you with a world of friendship that lasts and stands by your side.

The Devil and Miss Prymn

Have you ever wondered who would win in a fight between good and evil?

Yes, good is obvious to win. But,  what is it that good takes to make a win amongst an evil that is stronger than ever?

Viscos is a small town with visitors coming over to hunt. Children’s are sent away to cities to study. And you would always find the town silent.

At the entrance stays Berta, a widow who could talk to spirits. His husband and Chantal’s grandmother.

Chantal? The only young lady in the town. Works at the hotel since ages and could only dream of being rich.

But, one fine day, a stranger comes in town with 11 gold bars and offers them to the people of the town on one condition.

Not a single voice in the crowd was raised against the choice. The mayor was glad because they had accepted his authority; but the priest knew that this could be a good or a bad sign, because silence does not always mean consent-usually all it meant was that people were incapable of coming up with an immediate response. If someone did not agree, they would later torture themselves with the idea that they had accepted without really wanting to,and the consequences of that would be grave. ” pg165

To kill any human in the town of 279 people.

Who would they kill?

Who would be the prey?

Who would be the killer?

In this town of hunters, where is hunting is only attraction for tourists, would it be so easy to kill a random human being for the prosperity of the town?

Is it easy to kill?

Can good prevail through evil intentions?

A story of good and evil.

Paulo Coelho indeed has a world of imagination and words that inspire you through a life time.

And, for choosing between good and evil, i feel “it was all a matter of control. And choice. Nothing more and nothing less” -pg197
